The bottle outlives what is in it. That is the part you are actually giving.
A fragrance is a difficult gift, because you are guessing at someone's character in public. The Discovery Set removes the guess — six of them, and the person chooses their own.
If you already know which one is theirs, the full bottle carries its own date on the base — and it will still be on a shelf long after the fragrance is gone.
